Building Your Academic Web Presence
Do you want to be more visible to potential employers, collaborators, and funding bodies? It's more important than ever to have a strong online presence. But where on earth do you start? What's the best platform? And how can you avoid the timesink of social media?
This interactive workshop provides you with the tools and strategies you need to promote your research online,
using social media, blogs, videos, podcasts, and networking sites.
With the help of an experienced facilitator and a supportive environment, you'll understand what's right for you
and your research.
You'll learn how to:
- Create a professional online profile.
- Build a community around your work.
- Reach a wider audience with your research.
- Maximise your impact without spending too much time online.
- Avoid the common pitfalls of social media.
By the end of this session, you'll have a plan for building an online presence that helps you achieve your academic goals.
