Storytelling for Researchers: Writing
The session explores the fundamentals of a great story - character, plot and texture. Practical exercises will be done in pairs (or trios) and you'll be guided through crafting a short piece of creative writing. These skills will then be practically applied to planning and writing a blog post for public engagement, and how to adapt to the expectations of different audiences. We'll also look at how to apply storytelling skills to academic writing.

Robert Holtom is a prize-winning playwright and author. Their debut novel, A Queer Case, was released in June. They train people in harnessing the power of story and narrative to improve how they engage and communicate with others.
