This interactive workshop provides you with the tools and strategies you need to promote your research online, using social media, blogs, videos, podcasts, and networking sites.

You'll learn how to:

• Create a professional online profile to be more visible to potential employers, collaborators, and funding bodies
• Build a community around your work.
• Reach a wider audience with your research.
• Maximise your impact without spending too much time online.
• Avoid the time-sink and common pitfalls of social media.

By the end of this session, you'll have a plan for building an online presence that helps you achieve your academic goals.

About the trainer: 

Dr Catherine Pope was awarded her PhD in 2014. Since then, she has trained thousands of researchers at all stages, supporting them in reaching their goals. With a diverse professional background in academia, software engineering, and publishing, she enjoys learning difficult concepts and helping other people understand them. Catherine has written extensively about her favourites fields of technology and Victorian literature. She's currently working (very slowly) on her fourth book and finding new ways of tricking herself into writing.
