Tuesday 19th May 2026, 10am - 11am, Seminar Room 00.056, The Schwarzman Centre
This training session proposes to use examples and theoretical insights into undergraduate and graduate learning, to offer the participants strategies and tips on how to teach in small-group settings in the humanities. The following topics will be addressed:
- How to schedule and lead activities with small groups. What is too much, what is not enough?
- Class rules and guidelines.
- What is active learning and why does it matter.
- How to foster an inclusive learning space.
- How to strike the right tone with students.
